Behind every organisation that performs well is a workforce that understands its role, feels supported, and has the right systems in place to succeed. But creating that kind of environment requires more than simply hiring people. It requires thoughtful HR strategy, strong processes, effective communication, and the ability to understand both the needs of employees and the goals of the business.
For Adesua Iyoyojie, ACIPM, CIAP, this understanding has shaped a career spanning more than a decade in human resources. Her journey has taken her through HR administration, recruitment, employee relations, payroll, performance management, and strategic HR leadership across the Energy, IT, and Construction industries. Today, she serves as a Human Resources Business Partner at Greenville LNG, while also working as a Recruiter at Pariti.
What makes her journey particularly compelling is the progression behind these roles. From an early position focused on administration and customer service to positions where she now works closely with business leaders and supports strategic decision making, her career reflects a steady development of expertise around one central focus: helping organisations build high performing teams and effective workplaces.
Her current role at Greenville LNG represents a significant stage in that journey. Since December 2022, Adesua has served as Human Resources Business Partner, taking responsibility for key areas of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, payroll administration, employee support, reporting, and HR related compliance activities.
Recruitment and onboarding are important parts of her responsibilities, but her work goes much further. She supports the onboarding process by organising induction courses and plays a key role in ensuring payroll processes are executed promptly in line with agreed service level expectations. She also generates monthly payroll reports covering earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, and non taxable wages, while resolving payroll discrepancies and preparing remuneration statements.
There is also a strong operational side to her work. Adesua prepares schedules for pensions, union dues, NSITF, and ITF and transmits them to Finance for payment. She calculates terminal benefits for exiting employees in line with the employee handbook and collective bargaining agreement, while also producing regular and ad hoc HR reports that support strategic decision making.
These responsibilities reveal something important about her approach to HR. People management is not treated as an isolated function. It is connected to reporting, compliance, payroll, decision making, and the wider systems that keep an organisation running effectively.
Her experience as a Recruiter at Pariti adds another dimension to that work. Since October 2022, she has been involved in sourcing potential candidates through online channels and professional networks, planning interview and selection procedures, assessing candidates through an Applicant Tracking System, and designing job descriptions and interview questions based on specific role requirements.
She also participates in job fairs and recruitment events, forecasts quarterly and annual hiring needs by department, and builds long term relationships with past applicants and potential candidates. This reflects a recruitment approach that goes beyond simply filling vacancies. It involves understanding the organisation’s future needs and building relationships that can support those needs over time.
Before moving into her current roles, Adesua spent three years as Human Resources and Administration Manager at Connexxion Group. From January 2020 to December 2022, she led the company’s HR functions and oversaw programmes related to employee wellbeing. She also partnered with business leaders on employee centred initiatives designed to support a thriving organisation.
At Connexxion Group, her responsibilities covered recruitment, onboarding, training, compliance, health and safety, payroll, employee benefits, corporate events, and team building. She also established HR processes aligned with company strategies and managed complex employee relations matters, including disputes, grievances, and absences.
Her work there also included designing and implementing programmes focused on employee wellbeing, inclusion and diversity, performance management, and positive company culture. She coordinated the implementation of the annual performance management process and ensured that employees had up to date and signed job descriptions. Through her work, she helped bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, and other workplace concerns.
That experience was built on an earlier chapter at Eldorado Groups, where Adesua served as Human Resources Manager from July 2016 to December 2019. The role gave her the opportunity to handle many of the same critical areas, including recruitment, onboarding, training, employee relations, payroll, benefits, compliance, performance management, and employee wellbeing.
At Eldorado Groups, she partnered with business leaders to support employee centred agendas and established HR processes that were aligned with company strategies. She also managed employee relations cases involving disputes, grievances, and absences, while designing programmes that supported inclusion and diversity, performance management, and positive company culture.
Looking at this progression, a clear pattern emerges. Each role expanded her understanding of how people and organisations function. The responsibilities grew from administrative support to managing HR functions, partnering with business leaders, designing systems, handling complex employee matters, and contributing to strategic decision making.
Her professional journey began even earlier at Prologic Dynamic Hub, where she worked as a Human Resources and Administration Officer from February 2015 to February 2017. There, she managed queries in person, by phone, and through email, while also handling confidential documents, responding to requests and complaints, supporting management, and completing administrative tasks within required deadlines.
Although these responsibilities may appear different from her current position, they provided an early foundation in communication, organisation, confidentiality, customer care, and administrative efficiency. These are all skills that have remained relevant as her career has progressed into more strategic HR responsibilities.
Her academic journey has developed alongside her professional growth. Adesua holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration, with a focus on Human Resources Management, from Ahmadu Bello University, which she completed between February 2022 and January 2024. She previously earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Ambrose Alli University, where she studied from 2009 to 2014.
She also holds a Certificate in Human Resources from the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management, while her professional skills include HR Operations, HR Strategy, Full Life Cycle Recruiting, Technical Recruiting, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging, and HR Analytics.
For Adesua, the journey has been about more than accumulating job titles. Her experience reflects the gradual development of a professional who understands that successful organisations need both capable people and effective systems. From recruiting the right talent to supporting employees after they join, from managing payroll to developing performance processes, her work has consistently remained connected to the people side of organisational success.
That is perhaps the most defining part of her story. Human resources can easily become focused on policies, procedures, and administration, but Adesua’s career demonstrates the broader role HR can play in helping an organisation function better. Her experience cuts across the employee lifecycle, while her roles have repeatedly placed her at the point where employee needs and organisational objectives meet.
Her progression from Human Resources and Administration Officer to Human Resources Manager, then Human Resources and Administration Manager, Recruiter, and now Human Resources Business Partner tells a story of continued professional growth. It is a journey shaped by experience, responsibility, learning, and a growing ability to connect people strategy with the practical needs of a business.
Today, Adesua Iyoyojie continues to build on that experience, bringing together HR strategy, recruitment, employee relations, payroll administration, performance management, and organisational support. Her story is a reminder that career success does not always happen through one dramatic breakthrough. Sometimes, it is built through years of taking on greater responsibility, learning from each stage, developing new expertise, and consistently becoming better at solving the problems that matter.
Her journey shows what is possible when a professional continues to grow with every opportunity. From handling administrative responsibilities at the beginning of her career to supporting strategic HR decisions today, Adesua’s path reflects a steady commitment to building better workplaces, stronger teams, and more effective systems.
And perhaps that is what makes her success story worth following: it is not simply about where she is today, but about the many steps that brought her there.
